Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The dialect in Aichi Prefecture and the southern part of Gifu Prefecture have the feature that coalesces two continuous vowels and becomes "varied vowel", such as, for "ai, ui and oi", then "daikon→d〓:ko", "hurui→hury:", "koi→kφ:". The feature was well-known, but it is disappearing rapidly now. In order to inherit a cultural heritage called a dialect, it is important to collect with the excellent recording conditions, to preserve them, and to analyze the feature. However, the precedence research that analyzes voice in details is not found. The voice characteristics of the varied vowels of the Nagoya dialect including the difference between generations were extracted in this research.
