Abstract(in English) We upgrade and demonstrate a packet-selective reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) on 16 wavelengths x 40Gbit/s non-return-to-zero (NRZ) data packet transmission over 100km. A label-selectivity-enhanced optical en/decoder, which allows the optical label recognition with 40Gbit/s NRZ data packets, and a wide passband acousto-optic wavelength-tunable filter (AOTF) for 40Gbit/s signals, are newly adopted. Error-free (error rate of under 10^<-12>) transmission and operation for all 16-wavelength channels at three nodes are obtained over 100-km at 40Gbit/s.
