Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose a quasi-dynamic network design algorithm considering traffic growth for multi-layered photonic networks which consist of electrical paths and optical paths. For the proposed quasi-dynamic network design, existing paths will be left unchanged in order to minimize service disruption and any impairment or processing complexity that stem from path rerouting or from human-oriented errors. In our simulations, we evaluate dependency of network cost to the network design algorithms and the holding terms of service traffic. Then, we introduce a new parameter that represents expected service holding terms. The parameter is shown to represent effectively the network cost trend versus the number of the incremental designs. This study is the first to address criteria in designing future multi-layered photonic networks that can cost-effectively expand with accommodating different services.
