Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents an experimental evaluation of traffic control method for communication-broadcasting integrated services. The evaluated method adaptively controls data transmission from the viewers by restricting and/or delaying them depending on their priority and on the congestion state of the system. The performance of various methods is evaluated quantitatively through experiments on a test bed where approximately 1,000,000 viewers are emulated. The paper furthermore proposes two types of advanced traffic control methods: A method which controls rate of data transmission to/from the viewers, and a method which performs admission control at the server.
