Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Scoped Broadcasting is enssential for broadcast in mobile ad hoc networks to avoid redundant packets retransmission that causes broadcast storm problem. This paper proposes a scheme for broadcast in ad hoc networks using variable-range transmission power. Preserving energy and ensuring high delivery of broadcast packets are crucial tasks for broadcasting in ad hoc networks. Varying transmission range dynamically by individual broadcast relaying node contributes to the overall power savings and interfervence alleviation during communication. We analyzed the performance of the proposed scheme and compared it to other broadcast schemes for wireless ad hoc networks based on common-range transmission power which is prevalent.
