Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This report deals with a haptic media and video transfer system in which a user touches a real object located at a remote place by using haptic interface devices while watching video of the object. We have carried out two types of experiments. In one of the experiments, we investigate the influence of media syncronization error between haptic media and video on the media output quality by subjective assessment. Then, we propose a control scheme which dynamically changes the temporal resolution of video according to the positional information of haptic media. In the other experiment, we demonstrate the effectiveness of the control scheme.
