Abstract(in English) We are developing PC based streaming server system which can handle 1.5Gbps uncompressed high-definition television stream over the IP network. In a broadcasting station, the response delay which results from buffering must be suppressed to 33ms or less, not to make an image editor feel the sense of incompatibility. On the other hand, it is difficult to control the buffer underrun and overrun in a small amount of buffering, because the rate of the transmission and the rate of reception are slightly different. This difference originates the fact that the server and the terminal are asynchronous and work based on each clock. We developed two feedback rate control mechanisms which makes an amount of buffering smaller and makes transmission stable. In this paper, we describe the our feedback rate control mechanisms and verify its effectiveness by an experiment.
