Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper presents the interface system,"Information Snow", which displays information on a user's palm. Employing a snow fall metaphor to capsule pieces of information, the interface induces a person's instinct to catch snowflakes. As a snowflake melts in a user's palm, information contained inside is revealed. The action of catching a snowflake makes the user focus on the information and reduces their mental distance to the content. Experimental results suggest that people felt the information delivered by snowfall was warmer and softer in comparison to information displayed on ordinary screens. |
