Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We developed a bi-directional module based on a diffractive optics. Applying a low loss thermoplastic wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) lens, we achieved a 0dBm power output and a -25.5dBm sensitivity. In addition, optimizing the design of optics and the assembly, we succeeded in suppressing the penalty caused by the cross talk between LD and PD down to 0.5dB. The bi-directional module we developed was fully compliant with IEEE 802.3ah GE- PON (Gigabit Ethernet - Passive Optical Network) specifications.
