Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Long period fiber grating (LPFG) is worked as a variable optical attenuator (VOA) that the transmission loss at the resonance point can be controlled by bending the whole grating. The bending curvature of the LPFG is easily changed by its mechanical structure. The miniaturization for the practical use is also realized. In addition, we report polarization and reproducible characterisitics.
