Abstract(in English) This paper proposes block-wise resource block (RB)-level distributed OFDMA transmissions with N_D-block division in order to obtain the frequency diversity effect even for low-rate traffic (here N_D indicates the number of virtual RBs within one physical RB) in Evolved UTRA downlink. In block-wise RB-level distributed transmission, one or a few RBs are further divided into a few blocks each. Then, the divided blocks with the size of 1/N_D of one RB are multiplexed to generate one RB that comprises N_D original RBs. Simulation results show that the loss in the required average received signal energy per-symbol-to-noise power spectrum density ratio (E_s/N_o) using block-wise RB-level distributed transmission compared to that for sub-carrier-level distributed transmission is only approximately 0.3dB employing 2-branch antenna diversity reception and Incremental redundancy with the maximum number of retransmissions of three. The results also show that block-wise RB-level distributed transmission reduces the number of required control signaling bits compared to that for sub-carrier-level distributed transmission.
