High Throughput Frequency Scheduling Algorithm with Extensive Coverage Area for Cellular Networks Based on OFDMA

Abstract(in English) Frequency-domain scheduling in OFDMA system has been considered as one of attractive candidates for the technologies providing high spectral efficiency. Conventional PF method gives fairness of bandwidth allocation opportunities between users at the cost of the average sector throughput. On the other hand, the MaxCIR method gives the maximum throughput, because it always selects the highest SINR user. Thus, the selection probability of cell edge users is relatively low, and it results in unfairness between users. In this paper, we propose the frequency scheduling algorithm for OFDMA systems that is based on the required SINR and the SINR distribution in the target system. Computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves that the average user throughput as a function of distance is about 1.3 times higher than PF method and the user throughput at the cell edge is same. Furthermore, the sector throughput is about 1.5 times higher than the conventional method.
