Abstract(in English) | We show that for some serially concatenated codes with an accumulator encoder an appropriate interleaver design is effective not only in increasing the minimum distance but also in eliminating the existence of certain codewords that brings a negative effect on the iterative decoding performance. We also introduce a simple two-stage decoding approach which possibly improves the error rates of the conventional iterative decoding. |
