Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The satellite navigation system, especially Global Positioning system (GPS) has been used worldwide. Recently, GPS users request more high performance and utility to the GPS. So, the U.S. government is developing the improved civil GPS signals as called "GPS modernization." And the European Communities are also developing the new satellite navigation system called "Galileo." The U.S. government approachs more high performance and utility with the characteristics as follows, ・High bit rate→High precision ・New civil signals into L2,L5 frequencies→High precision, High reliability and Short initial time of RTK-GPS ・Improved navigation messages→High accuracy ・Messageless signals→High sensitivity ・Long code→Better correlation The improvements of precision, reliability and opportunity of positioning are also expected by the cooperation between GPS and Galileo. I explain how to achieve these high performances with these characteristics in this tutorial. And I show the improved precision by our prototype receiver which uses L1 and L2 civil signals of "GPS modernization."
