Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A neural sensing-system which detects neuron pulses in a natural active situation, and a bio-sensing system which detects sensitively various types of DNAs or viruses are required. To realize these systems, bio-sensing LSIs, which includes a low-noise amplifier, a wireless transceiver, and an analog-to-digital converter are essential. A low-noise CMOS amplifier operating at a 1-V supply voltage is developed using the two noise reduction techniques of autozeroing and chopper stabilization. The proposed amplifier utilizes a feedback with virtual grounded input-switches and a multiple-output switched op-amp. The low-noise amplifier fabricated by a 0.18-μm CMOS technology was measured at a 1-V power supply, and achieved low noise performance of 50-nV/√Hz input noise power spectrum density at a 1-MHz chopping frequency. Circuit techniques for low-voltage AD converter and wireless transceiver are also described.
