Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper proposes a technique to improve the quality of rendering of fluid simulation based on the particle method with point-based geometry. It is very difficult for the particle method to generate smooth interface that the fluid inherently exhibits. In order to solve this problem, we make use of surfels usually adopted for point-based rendering and improve the rendering quality of the fluid interface by distributing the surfels around the fluid particles. By our method, a fast fluid rendering of high quality has been achieved by moving the surfels step by step obeying the results of the particle method and optimizing the density of the surfels.
