Application of Electrolessly Dual-Layered CoNiFeB Film to Softmagnetic Underlayer for a Double-layered Perpendicular Recording Media

Abstract(in English) We propose the dual-layered softmagnetic underlayer composed of two layers having different H_c values. The lower is the striped magnetic domain layer, and the upper is lower-H_c layer without striped magnetic domain. The upper part as a return-path layer plays the role which is made to change from perpendicular magnetization in the lower to closure magnetic circuit. In the electroless deposition, each H_c layer can be easily selected by changing the rotational speed of disk. From the results of the noise measurement, the dual-layered SUL has a high possibility of suppressing both spike noise and de-noise at the same time.
