Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) To achieve both well-isolated magnetic grains in recording layer and thin intermediate layer for granular-typed perpendicular magnetic recording media, we investigated template intermediate layer by using phase separation. Through structural analysis of lattice constant and grain diameter for intermediate layer materials of (Ru, Pd, Au)-(C, N), the following points were clarified: 1) In case of Ru-C system, added carbon is precipitated in Ru grain. 2) In case of Pd-(C, N) system, recrystallization is occurred after completion of phase separation. 3) In the case of Pd-(C, N), template intermediate layer with chemically or physically separated structure considers to be formed just after phase separation before recrysallization.
