Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In wireless multi-hop networks, a terminal can communicate with another terminal via a multi-hop path consisting of other terminals. However, terminals are not always connected if terminals are randomly distributed over a service area. To overcome such an essential problem on connectivity, locating relay stations in the service area has been proposed. As one of location problems, we have considered location of relay stations with a restriction that relay stations have to be located at the designated points given in advance without knowledge of positions of terminals. In this report, at first, we consider the same problem and reevaluate a method for the location of relay stations for two kinds of wireless link models in various conditions of distribution of designated points. Next, we point out that this method increases the number of hops and makes relay loads of some relay stations larger than other relay stations, and propose another method to overcome these drawbacks.
