Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, wireless multi-hop networks come to be actually used and applied to various applications. However, in the multi-hop networks structured with only wireless links, many packets loss due to the transmission errors. These losses occur over wireless links between intermediate nodes. TCP sender retransmits segments in the end-to-end basis, even though lost packets are delivered to intermediate nodes. Those retransmissions causes the throughput degradation resulting from the unnecessary congestion controls and the increased retransmitted traffic. This paper focuses on the reduction of retransmitted traffic and describes some methods for the retransmission by intermediate nodes. It shows the results of performance evaluation of TCP communication over wireless multihop networks with burst transmission errors.
