| 抄録(和) | 表情顔の連続的な形態変化における顔表象の慣性効果を実験的に検討した.8名の人物の幸福表情顔と怒り表情顔をとりあげ,実験1では,3種類の表情変化のタイプ(幸福・閉口→中性,中性のみ,怒り・閉口→中性)について,顔形態が連続的に変化する(動画提示)条件と,瞬時に変化する(切替提示)条件の2つの提示条件を設け, 「怖い-優しい」の一尺度を用いて中立顔の印象評定を行った.その結果,動画提示でのみ,中立顔の印象が文脈となる表情顔の印象と反対方向にずれて評定され,笑顔(幸福表情)から連続的に変化した中立顔はより怖い印象へ,怒り顔(怒り表情)から連続的に変化した中立顔はより優しい印象へとシフトした.実験2では,実験1で使用した表情顔(幸福・閉口,怒り・閉口)と同じ情動を表出するものの形態の異なる顔画像(幸福・開口,怒り・開口)を用いて,動画提示で印象評定を行った.その結果,効果量は小さいながらも,実験1の動画提示条件とほぼ同様の慣性効果が定性的に観察された.これらの結果にもとづいて,実験で観察された効果が,3つの処理段階(顔の部分的な形態特徴に対するperceptualな処理,表情顔についてのcognitiveな処理,表出された情動についてのemotionalな処理)に起因して生起する可能性について論じた. |
| 抄録(英) | We investigated how the dynamic context of facial expressions affects the representation of a neutral face. In expreimrnetl, participants observed the face in the dynamic presentation condition or in the static two-frame presentation condition, with the happy, neutral, and angry contextual expressions with closed mouth. The participants rated their impressions of the neutral face at the offset of facial change, on an 11-point scale (from harsh to mild). The results showed that a clear tendency for the impression rating of the neutral expression to be affected by the dynamic presentation of the contextual expression. When the angry (happy) expression gradually returned to the neutral expression, the impression of the neutral face shifted to being milder (harsher) than when the neutral expression was presented statically or when the angry (happy) expression was the context in the static two-frame presentation. In experimen2, the participants observed the faces only in the dynamic presentation condition, with the happy, neutral, and angry contextual expressions with open mouth. The effect was smaller, but the tendency was almost the same as in the case of the dynamic presentation condition in experiment1. Our demonstrations suggest the internal presence of the inertial properties either in perceptual, cognitive, or emotional processing level of the dynamic facial expression changes in human brain. |
