Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, multilevel transmission schemes using M-sequences with on-off signaling are considered. The M-sequences with on-off signaling are the modified version of the orthogonal M-sequences which are M-sequences with additional one chip. The basic idea of the M-sequences with on-off signaling is that the negative chips are replaced by zero, or the positive chips and the negative chips are replaced by zero and +1 respectively. The relationship between the orthogonal M-sequence and M-sequence with on-off signaling is pseudo-orthogonal. Therefore, source data are transmitted by M-sequence with on-off signaling, and it is detected by the orthogonal M-sequence. In this paper, the bit error rates of the pulse position modulation with on-off type M-sequences are analyzed. The performance degradation from the lower bound of pulse-position-modulation system is 3[dB]. The proposed system is better than that of the conventional system using the modified prime codes when the number of interference users is greater than 5.
