Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recently, as portable devices are becoming widespread rapidly, ad hoc network is spotlighted. In general, routes often need to be changed in an ad hoc network because each node has mobility. AODV, which is a major routing protocol for ad hoc networks, adapts to volatile networks and various scales of networks. However, traffic congestion and/or electromagnetic interference may be caused by flooding control messages to search for routes whenever a node makes a call. In this paper, we propose more effective method of the route search which is extended from the conventional AODV. In the proposed method, nodes search adequate route by means of unicast messages using old route information, if possible, before searching it by means of flooding mechanism. As a consequence, proposed method can reduce the number of control messages.
