Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Evolutionary development of all-IP network will make various kinds of devices around a user to be connected to the Internet. In such a ubiquitous network environment with the feature of heterogeneity and ubiquity, a user shall be able to dynamically switch devices, media, and link interfaces according to the user's situation and his preference. Authors have been researching the unified resource switching mechanism which enables a user to change session composition during a conversation, and implemented it on PC. However, as a cellular phone is the closest network device to a user, it is significant for a cellular phone to be involved in the system. Therefore, we implemented the dynamic resource switching mechanism on a BREW-compliant cellular phone. The cellular phone with the BREW application can communicate with both cellular phone and PC, and execute resource switching. We also describe performance evaluation using two kinds of link interfaces for a cellular phone; CDMA 2000 1x EV-DO and IEEE 802.11b.
