Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The tactile sensors have been used for sensing the softness and hardness of an object. In this paper, the sensitivity on a longitudinal bar type tactile sensor was considered. First, the longitudinal bar type tactile sensor was analyzed by means of the distributed constant circuit model of the resonator. The approximate equation of the frequency deviation on the tactile sensor in contact with an object was calculated. Then, the fabricated longitudinal bar resonators were used as tactile sensors. The experimental characteristics of the tactile sensors were shown by measuring the softness and hardness of test pieces. The difference of the characteristics was discussed from the viewpoints of the resonance frequency, vibration mode and material of the resonator. It was clarified that the sensitivity on a tactile sensor could be enlarged using the longitudinal bar resonator with higher resonance frequency and fundamental mode, and this resonator was suitable for miniaturization.
