Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Network topology seriously affects network cost, reliability, throughput, and traffic pattern, etc, so we need to consider these multiple criteria with different units, simultaneously. However, ordinary design methods of network topology considered only a single criterion. DEA (data envelopment analysis) enables us to simultaneously evaluate multiple criteria. In this paper, we apply DEA to the network topology design. In DEA, however, the concept of efficiency is complicated, so the verification of the obtained result is difficult. Moreover, the scalability is a problem. So, we propose a design method of network topology using average rank. The average rank is calculated by averaging all the ranks of each criterion. The proposed method requires small amount of calculation, and the principle of topology evaluation is easy to understand. Though numerical evaluation, we clarify that the proposed method selects network topologies with fine values in all the criteria. |
