Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent study of cortical micro circuits, it was found that spatial information is represented by 'grid cells' in the dorsocaudal medial entorhinal cortex (dMEC). The receptive field of a grid cell consists of periodically distributed small regions. In this paper, we proposed a new computational model based on information separation method, which can reproduce such a receptive field. The model consists of two LVQ(learning vector quantization) layers. Both of the layers receive external input representing position, and one of them receives inhibitory input from the other via anti-Hebbian synapses.
