Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We address the issue of the problem of reducing the computational complexity in the technique proposed by Wax for detection of the number of signals impinging on an array of passive sensors and also for their localization. Although this technique shows excellent performance in the detection and localization, its computational load is extremely heavy. We propose an efficient version of AM (Alternating Minimization) algorithm by decomposing the criterion of the parameter estimation into a fixed component depending only on fixed parameters and a component varying with a variable parameter in the AM algorithm. Finally simulation results are shown to demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm.
