Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Various representations of non-linear wavelets based on max-plus algebra are proposed by using various sampling windows. In the case of proposed wavelets, the approximation signal is corresponded to the minimum (or maximum) elements among the elements of sampling window, and the detailed signal is corresponded to the subtraction of the fixed element and other ones of the sampling window. Therefore, the proposed wavelets can be generalized without any restriction with respect to the sampling window. Through the compression experiments by using test images/videos extracted from standard image/video database, the performance and properties of the proposed wavelets by using 5 different sampling windows are shown.
