| 抄録(英) | In this article, we will discuss how to realize direct manipulation of virtual objects by the actor in virtual studio with a hand of the actor's own. Although virtual studio system can produce video images of the actor with the virtual objects synthesized by Computer Graphics (CG), the actor can not manipulate those virtual objects with his/her hand directly because the system can not detect the motion of the actor's hand. In order to realize direct manipulation of virtual objects by the actor's hand, the motion of the hand needs to be measured. Although the motion of the actor's hand could be easily measured if the actor wore a dataglove, it appears in the video images together with the actor. However, if we adopted model-based vision approach as another option, it would not be easy to obtain sufficiently precise motion of the actor's hand in real time. Moreover, regradless of the method adopted for measuring the motion of the actor's hand, the measured data always include some amount of error, which cause the error in registration for superimposing virtual objects into real images of the actor. We propose to measure the motion of the actor's hand by a dataglove, which is replaced by a 'Virtual Hand' created by CG, and to adjust the error of registration by modifying the posture of the virtual hand so that it correctly grasps the virtual objects being manipulated by the actor. |
