Abstract(in English) | We will make a brief report on non-invasive brain computer interface in CAVE-clone immersive multiscreen environment. Visual evoked potentials (VEPs) in human were used to perform a preliminary test for online grasping operation of a 3D virtual object in CAVE. The visual stimulus, that is the virtual cube with the illumination frequency of 5Hz, induced the electroencephalographic activities of so-called steady-state VEPs in user's visual cortex. We implemented the online system and investigated the possibility of online operation using our prototype of brain computer interface. A virtual cube was found to be grasped by using the steady-state EEG signals, while the system performance should be improved in our future works. The promising visual evoked potentials in CAVE-clone immersive virtual environment will be addressed by our pilot study in the viewpoint of on-line grasping for followed manipulations of virtual objects. |
