Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes a simple and inexpensive indoor 3D position tracking system that uses computer vision techniques. The proposed system uses decorative printed pattern suitable for interior decorations for the walls, floors or ceilings. Unlike the common tracking marker, designed patterns can be used as an interior decoration like wallpaper. Positional data are encrypted in printed pattern: users can obtain their own positions in real-time by processing captured images of the printed pattern from the camera of handheld devices. Therefore, this system only requires printed patterns on a room's interior and the user only have to carry a mobile terminal with one camera. Additionally, many people can use this system at the same time. We have installed this pattern and provided a notebook PC with a CCD camera for each user and we measured the accuracy of 3D positional data obtained from experiment.
