Abstract(in English) Novice users with little technical skill have insufficient knowledge and vocabulary for explaining system troubles accurately. As a result, technical support staff have great difficulty in accurately grasping the trouble and the operating environment of the system. Visual information could help the novice users for effective collaboration with an operator. We examine the effect of visual information on the effectiveness and impression of a collaboration between a novice user and an operator.
