Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a fast restoration method using OTN overhead for cost-effective node configuration where some of regenerators are removed. In this configuration, optical switches are connected to WDMs directly without O/E/O conversion. In the control sequence for back-up route confirmation and restoration, we add cross-connect steps of optical switches and wavelength tuning steps of O/E/O converters to the sequence just before transmission of control information to the neighbor node. This addition enables fast restoration for cost-effective node configuration. We demonstrated the fast restoration time of 42.6ms experimentally using the proposed method.
