Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) For next generation optical transport networks, electronic pre-compensation techniques have been known to combine the reduction of capital expenditure with extension of their continuous transmission range without costly dispersion compensation fibers. To design optical transceivers with this technique, it is important to clarify the required specification and the achievable performance for implemented modulation formats. In this report, we show simulation results focusing on modulation format dependencies for electronic pre-compensation techniques. We also make clear the required symbol-length and the number of quantization bits to calculate the pre-compensated optical data stream in cooperation with an inverse transfer-function of the optical transmission line, and show the difference of the performance among modulation formats.
