Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have demonstrated on an optical node using optical switches, optical wavelength multiplexers, and an SG-DBR laser diode whose wavelength can be preciously controlled at the 50-GHz WDM grid without wavelength mode hopping. A quartz etalon for preciously detecting wavelength of the laser diode has been newly developed. We attempted the transmission of the 40-Gbit/s Inverse-RZ signals multiplexed at 0.8bit/s/Hz using the optical nodes. It is confirmed that ADD/DROP and THROUGH functions of the optical node can be performed while the wavelength of the SG-DBR laser diode is switched among the 50-GHz grid frequencies.
