Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) NEC's Dynamically Reconfigurable Processor (DRP) is a programmable device that can con figure the data path at run time. DRP-1, the prototpye chip of DRP, have 512 processing elements (PEs) and 16 configuration data called context. Recently, it is demanded that LSIs for system on a ship (SoC) can process large scale applications such as video processing or 3D graphics. To implement these applications on DRP, more PEs or contexts are needed. We devided the function of MPEG-2 decoder and implemented it on DRP-1. From the implementation result, we propose two DRP core which can implement all main processes of MPEG-2 decoder.
