Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recent studies have employed traffic identification methods that use the statistical analysis of application traffic, based on packet sizes and the inter-arrival times between packets. These methods can not be applicable to the applications using arbitrary port randomly and encryption of packet payload because they rely on port numbers and signatures. In this paper, we propose a new traffic identification method for application signaling traffic, based on an analysis of the transition of unhidden packet attributes- such as packet sizes and packet directions. We expect that the proposed method enables traffic controllers to identify the diverse application traffic by combining with existing methods.
