Abstract(in English) Construction of a statistical model is an important issue in medical CAD (Computer Aided Diagnostics) system. To date, there are many statistical shape models have been constructed for the brain and internal organs. In this paper, we try a method for construction of statistical volume model of the femur from 3D CT images. A set of segmented the femur are used for construction of statistical volume model. Each femur is mapped into the target one by non-rigid registration and translation and rotation. Then, we divide its the femur into four parts by an anatomical feature. Principal component analysis (PCA) is used to extract the statistical features from each of them. As a result of evaluation by leave-one-out cross validation method, we got Improvement of around 20% approximate value.
