Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Estimation of a suitable window shape and appropriate weights in weighted median filters is one of important problems. In this paper, we propose a new design method for window shapes and weights of weighted median filters. This technique is applied to texture images corrupted by impulse noise. To improve mean square errors (MSE), the window shapes and weights are estimated by using the simulated annealing method, respectively. From simulation examples, the designed filters by the proposed method give better results than that of comparable methods.
