Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When a mobile host sending and/or receiving streaming video handovers to a congested network, due to the narrow available bandwidth at the new network compared to the previous one, it may suffer video frame losses and stalls. We have proposed a predictive rate control scheme with network triggered handover for avoiding such deterioration of video quality. It is expected that this scheme is effective not only for handovering host but preexisting hosts at the new access point when it is used on wireless LANs. We verify the effect of the scheme on wireless LANs with simulations.
