Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recent advances in wireless communication technologies have led the development of micro sensors equiped with wireless communication capabilities, and wireless sensor networks composed of these sensor nodes are watched with keen interest. In general, sensors used in wireless sensor network have limitation of energy. This is one of the serious problems for sensor networks, because sensors are usually scattered in wide range of area and have difficulty in exchanging their batteries. In order to extend lifetime of sensor network, energy-efficient routing protocol is needed. Cluster based routing is well known routing protocol that has advantage in energy-efficient routing. In cluster based routing, near by sensors organize cluster, and one of the sensors in cluster perform as clusterhead which aggregates and compresses data arriving from non-clusterhead nodes. Energy consumption in whole sensor network can be supressed by sending aggregated data to access point. However, it has problems such as creating a lot of control packets and cosuming different amount of energy depending on sensors. In this paper we propose sacalable clustering method which solves those problems, and extends lifetime of sensor network with all sensors arrive.
