Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In order to examine whether the peripheral auditory system can be activated by very-high-frequency sounds at the level below the hearing threshold, an attempt is made to measure the auditory brainstem response (ABR) for high-frequency tonal stimuli. It was found that the potentials could be evoked by a 16 kHz tone pip when the signal level was very high. Because the spectrum of the tone pip spread over a wide-frequency range, it is not sure whether the response was due to the high-frequency components. The measurement system has to be refined to achieve a sufficient signal to noise ratio.
