Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have reported that Eu (III) complexes with two different phosphine oxides can be excited efficiently by near ultraviolet light and are highly soluble even in fluorinated medium. Near ultraviolet light excited red LED devices containing novel Eu (III) complexes in fluorescence layer was fabricated. The luminous flux of red LED devices was large enough (850mlm) when 20mA of electric current was applied. Moreover, new white LED devices with large spectra intensity in the red region were obtained by utilizing Eu (III) complexes. We also developed novel Eu (III) complexes with asymmetric diphosphinedioxide aiming at universal illumination.
