Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Recent environmental considerations are increasing the demand for improved fuel efficiency. The V6-engine in the new vehicle model employs the cylinder-on-demand system providing three-cylinder operation to improve the fuel economy. However, this mode of operation has a negative influence on the noise and vibration performance. Accordingly, we have incorporated both active noise control (ANC) system and active control engine mount (ACM) system. The purpose of this paper is to introduce these technologies. By mass-producing these technologies and applying into a new vehicle model fitted with V6-engine with cylinder-on-demand system, both excellent fuel economy and noise and vibration performance are achieved.
