| 抄録(英) | Several kinds of environmental tolerance tests were carried out as primary evaluation for examining space applications using magnetic recording hard disk drives (HDDs). This paper presents the results of vibration, thermal tolerance, low pressure environment, and radiation tolerance tests for four different types of commercial HDDs. The 1-, 1.8-, and 2.5-inch HDDs passed each test. However, the 3.5-inch HDD broke in the vibration test of acceptance level. Based on these results, the paper describes the feasibility of using HDDs in space. |
