Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Sun-synchronous Earth observation satellites require precision attitude determination, attitude control and advanced on-board automation for their Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS). To meet these requirements, a new high-performance Attitude and Orbit Control Electronics (AOCE) was developed. The ALOS AOCE can detect failures, isolate them, and reconfigure the system automatically by using two out of three 64-bit MPUs. This computer was launched on the Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) and has been operated successfully. This paper presents an overview of the ALOS AOCE that provides the features both high-performance and fault-tolerance.
