Abstract(in English) A novel gray-scale secret image hiding scheme for two binary halftone images based on error diffusion is proposed. Conventional scheme based on error diffusion halftoning technique can produce high quality halftone share images in short processing time. However, this conventional method only supports a binary or ternary image as a secret image. Therefore, only logo images or simple graphics can be used as a secret image. On the other hand, there are other schemes that can decode a gray-scale secret image so that natural images can be used as a secret image. However, these conventional schemes have problems in either share image quality or processing time. In order to solve these problems, we propose to extend a conventional error diffusion scheme, which have a new feed back mechanism to reflect a neighboring decoded secret pixel value. A simulation result shows that the proposed method can reproduce high quality gray-scale secret image with high share image quality and high speed processing.
