Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) High efficient power amplifier with low distortion is required for mobile and broadcasting stations. Predistortion linearizer is one of the practical techniques to reduce the non-linear distortion. The miniature linearizer with a diode has been already reported. The conventional linearizer has the monotonous gain with increase or decrease of input power. In case of class-AB power amplifiers which have a gain expansion, nonlinear distortion is increased by using the conventional linearizer in saturated region. We proposed a Series Anti-Parallel Diode Linearizer (SAPDL). Its gain is decreased in the middle power region and is increased in the saturated region. In this paper, the operation principle of a SAPDL is made clear. We demonstrate that the distortion of the UHF-band power amplifier is reduced with this proposed linearizer.
