Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The search or design for long sequences with high Merit Factor (MF) has been pursued for decades. Through exhaustive search, optimum binary sequences of length N<=59 were found. In this paper, we propose a novel adaptive genetic algorithm (AGA) that can design codes with special properties with lengths far above 59. The code generated by AGA achieve better bit-error rate (BER) performance than Golay codes (N=64) used in UMTS-TDD system by about 1dB on typical multipath fading channels.
